Speed Training
The most anticipated and watched event of the NFL Scouting Combine is the 40 yard dash. The 40 yard dash can make or break an athlete. How fast will these future NFL athletes run. A couple tenths of a second can determine if a player gets drafted in the 1st round or the 5th round.
Every milli second matters. When it comes to speed training, our attention to detail is second to none. We know that no two athletes are the same so to make sure we individualize each ahlete's program. What works for one athlete may not work for the other.
Our speed development is based upon science and technology. Our load management, programming, and program implementation is contingent upon what we see in performance testing, GPS Tracking, Heart Rate variability, force plate data, medical assessments, and velocity based profiling from our weightroom sessions. To be successful in speed development, we must assess and continue to assess not only our athletes but our programming as well. Every central nervous system is different so we must plan and adapt accordingly.
Strength Training
When it comes to strength training in preparation for the NFL combine, our aim is to help each athlete build strength and power, while also addressing any imbalances or nagging injuries that may have occurred during their most recent season of play. In order to achieve this, it risky to effectively manage stressors and overall training value, as we progressively work towards each athlete’s strength and performance goals. By addressing each individual athlete’s deficiencies and areas of concern, we can not only remove possible “roadblocks” to performance, but also work to lower their risk of future injury.
Position Training
Position Skills Training is equally as important as Performance training for our combine athletes. At Yo Murphy Performance we have a cohort of skilled position coaches for each position group. A typical position coach cohort will consist of a quarterbacks coach, running backs coach, wide receiver/tight end coach, linebackers coach, defensive line coach, offensive line coach, and defensive backs coach.
The quarterbacks will operate as its own entity and have a different schedule independent of the main training group. The quarterbacks will throw with their designated position coach four days per week. All other positions will have two skills training days per week with their designated coach.

FRC
The most important aspects of a training program often come down to the individual’s ability to recover. The capacity to recover allows performance in the next training session to be optimized. The training itself provides the stimulus for change. However, during the recovery period, transformation occurs. Our recovery methods include on-site massage therapy, Myofascial Graston Technique, Cryotherapy, hyperbolic chambers, infrared saunas, hot/cold tubs, and Pulse Recovery Techniques used to increase blood flow to damaged muscles for enhanced recovery.
Our integrated rehab and injury prevention training program are developed and ran by knowledgeable and experienced professionals. Since every athlete is unique in their sports history, our program addresses the individual needs of each athlete. After conducting a thorough kinetic chain assessment, our therapists and athletic trainers will provide hands on treatment protocols to optimize your movement patterns, reduce pain and swelling, and prepare for the NFL Combine and your future NFL team. Our rehab methods include soft tissue mobilization, dry needling, FRC, ultrasound, neuromuscular electrical

Nutrition
With Fuel being one of our core values, we place a huge emphasis on it throughout our pre- draft program. From the moment our athletes arrive for training in December to the NFL Scouting Combine in February, continuous nutrition and fueling is at the top of our athletes' minds. The Nutritionist at each HOA location will oversee al things related to nutrition including meals, supplementation, and hydration.
The Nutritionist will facilitate the initial assessments with each athlete to collect data to go into the athlete profiles in the Athlete Management System. From there, they'll work hand in hand with their respective Chefs and Supplement Specialists to create a full encompassing nutrition plan for each athlete. The nutrition plans should be based on the initial assessments, DEXA scans and the micronutrient and macronutrient data we collect from the blood analysis results.
Our Nutritionist will oversee all things related to nutrition; including meals, supplementation, and hydration.

Sports Science
We place such an emphasis on sports science because it takes all the guesswork out of everything we do from a programming standpoint. We track GPS, heart rate monitoring, force production, average velocities, sleep, velocity based training (VBT) in the weight room, posterior chain resilience, and overall wellness. Al of these data points and factors contribute to the overall readiness of each athlete from a day-to-day and week-to-week standpoint, so we can ensure we are maximizing their potential in preparation for both the NFL Scouting Combine and their individual College Pro Days. Specifically, the goal is to have data points on every aspect of the athlete so we can accurately track progress across performance, position training, and overall mobility and readiness.
Our Tech:
Daily Performance Tracking (Field Based GPS), Initial and Intermittent testing, Force Decks Testing, Heart Rate Variability (HRT) Tracking, Fully Automatic Timing, NordBoard Assessments, Velocity Based Training (VBT), Proprioceptive Testing & Training

life skills
The purpose of the NFL Life Skills series is to provide a space for former NFL players to connect with and mentor our pre-draft athletes. We set up a series of sessions throughout the training program to tackle the topics of financial literacy, overcoming adversity, managing relationships, overall life ni the NFL, training c a m p stress, etc.
The Athlete Services lead at each location will plan out and coordinate the series during the planning period prior to each pre-draft program (September to December). All sessions should be planned and coordinated in detail and included in the master schedule given to athletes, agents and Combine staff prior to the start of the program in late December.

interview + media prep
While training here athletes will not only be prepared physically but mentally as well. As we know, the majority of athletics is mental. Therefore, we provide premium experiences to assist with Interview Prep, Board work with Coaches, Mental Health and Fitness skills, Wonderlic Prep, Psychological Testing, and Media Prep just as they will see in Indianapolis and during their Pre-Draft transition period. These areas can also make or break an athlete's process, so we focus highly on them as well. We have professionals with over 50 combine years of experience to help these young men improve in the aforementioned areas.

mental fitness
With mental fitness being one of our core pillars, it's important that al of our programs touch on mental fitness ni some aspect. For our NFL Pre-Draftnpopulation, the goal is to assess their mental state when they arrive, educate them on mental fitness and what that looks like as they transition into the league, and provide the proper tools and resources to equip them for mental and emotional pressures that come with being a professional athlete.
